Class Math Project!
In these pictures the students are using manipulatives (animal crackers) to help them add along to the story, "All Aboard!"
The students had to first create a train car to put their animal crackers in as they counted along with the book. On each page, more animals get added to the train cars. Therefore, as I read a page the students would add that amount to their train car. As they added the manipulatives they had to write that amount on a given sheet of paper so that they could keep track of many animals were going into the train car. At the end of the book, the students had to add up all of the animals that went into the train.
